To MCEFC,
This past year has seen massive growth in the footprint of MCE in the local community and Australia wide, following a year seeing more Youth and Senior teams making finals appearances, large numbers of players in representation teams, SAP teams taking the pitch and proudly representing their badge and a vibrant 5-A-Side competition to wrap up the year.
As well as the strong showing for both Club and State in the Australian Championship, the NPL Men winning their maiden NPL Premiership as MCEFC was an achievement to behold and one that all Club Members should be proud of. With a number of other trophies making their way to the Clubhouse it was a season to remember for many players and coaches, and the growth for all was evident.
As with every year, the work behind the scenes is crucial and the Club has seen continuous growth and success under the leadership of Tony Dooley as President at both ACE and MCE.
We would like to once again acknowledge the many years of service to ACE, MBU and MCE and especially in the position of president at ACE/MCE and we are grateful that Tony is able to continue as part of the Committee in the role of Treasurer for 2026.
Two stalwarts of the Club for many years, filling in most of the positions needed to keep a Club running are Rochelle and Elisha who are taking a well-earned break from the Committee.
Both of these club legends have served across ACE, MBU and MCE through the years and have always sought to ensure all Club members feel cared for and a part of the Community.
The time they have given cannot be counted in hours and their impact has set the Club up for positive growth into the future.
Thanks is in order also for Robbie English who will step down from the Committee and continue to be involved in other roles at MCE, we are grateful for your time on the Committee and your dedication to your role.
To those returning or taking on a different position on the Committee for 2026, thank you for continuing to serve at the Club, your efforts do not go unnoticed. It has been a joy to work alongside you all and we will continue be so in 2026.
We look forward to new challenges this coming season and cannot thank all players, managers, referees, parents, volunteers, coaches and staff enough for representing MCE with pride in 2025.
As we prepare for the 2026 seasons, we are confident that the continuing and incoming Committee have the passion and commitment required to keep driving the Club forward and as always we will rely on the support of numerous roles at the Club to continue to build a distinct and notable Club Culture.
The football year begins very quickly after the break so we look forward to seeing everyone as they make their return to the fields and can't wait to help our Club Family continue to enjoy their football.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
See you round the grounds and... Excelsior!
Jason Gilbert
President MCEFC
